Lead recycling
Lead Recycling from Used Batteries in India
Lead recycling, as SALVAGE describes it, is one chain. A used lead acid battery comes in. Lead, acid and plastic are recovered. The lead is smelted and refined. A new battery is built. The company runs that chain in India.
Used batteries, not a vague feedstock
The batteries are lead acid batteries at end of life. They come from fleets, dealers, depots and defence stores. The homepage names seven sources, and the wording there is specific enough to repeat.
- Automotive. Cars, trucks and buses, through dealers and fleet workshops.
- Aviation. Aircraft ground and onboard batteries at end of life.
- Defence. Vehicle, field and installation batteries from defence stores.
- Industrial UPS. Data centre and plant backup, replaced on schedule.
- Inverter and home backup. The largest and steadiest household stream.
- Marine. Ship and port batteries, including bulk replacements at refit.
- Telecom. Tower backup banks, replaced on cycle.
If you hold batteries from one of those places and want them collected, the practical page is lead acid battery scrap. This page is about what happens after they arrive.
Six stages, one company
The homepage calls the process six stages and one company. Most recyclers stop at recovered lead and sell it to somebody who builds the battery. SALVAGE builds the battery. That distinction is the whole point of the loop: there is no step where the value leaves.
- Collect. Dead batteries come in from fleets, dealers, depots and defence stores.
- Break. The battery is cut open. Lead, acid and plastic separate. Recycling here is not "the lead only". The acid and the plastic are separated at the same time, and the plastic is kept for the cases of a new battery.
- Smelt. Recovered lead goes to the furnace. The site gives no temperature or recovery rate, and none is added here.
- Refine. The metal is brought to the purity a new battery needs. No assay or grade is printed on the site, so none is stated here.
- Rebuild. New plates, new cases from the recycled plastic, a finished battery. That is manufacture, not a second company downstream. It is covered on the recycled lead and batteries page.
- Return. It ships. And one day it comes back to stage one. A battery that leaves can re-enter as scrap. The loop is the business, not a slogan pasted onto a trading desk.
Why the environmental certificate is on the site
The careers section describes the work in one sentence: recycling lead properly is difficult, tightly regulated and genuinely useful. The site does not set out the regulations. What it does publish is the environmental certificate, in full, so a reader can check it with the issuer rather than take the company's word.
ISO 14001:2015 is the environmental management system. Certificate number Q2A-2026-0608T126821. Issued 08 June 2026, valid until 07 June 2029, issued by Q2A Certification Board, United Kingdom. ISO 9001:2015 is the quality management system, certificate Q2A-2026-0608T126811, with the same issuer and the same dates. Surveillance audits fall due by June 2027 and June 2028.
The certified scope, printed under both certificates, is trading and recycling of scrap, metals and related recyclable materials. Both PDFs are on the homepage.
Where the recycling is done
One manufacturing unit in Telangana, and offices in four cities across India. The unit is at Sy No. 529/2, 513, 512/2, Udityal Village Road, Balanagar Mandal, Udityal Village, Mahboobnagar District, Telangana 509202, India. That is the plant. It is not in the middle of Hyderabad. Hyderabad is an office: TSIIC Blocks M-183 to M-192, Stilt Floor, Sri Sai Nath Complex, Kattedan Industrial Area, Hyderabad, Telangana 500077, India, which is also the address of Salvage Energy Solutions Private Limited, CIN U28990TG2022PTC161271.
The other offices are in Mumbai, at NESCO IT Park, Goregaon (East); in Bengaluru, at WeWork Embassy TechVillage, Bellandur; and in Gurugram, at Vi-John Tower, Udyog Vihar Phase-III. The full lines, and map links, are in the locations section of the homepage. Four offices and one plant is the layout the site actually states. It does not claim a furnace in every city.
What this page will not pretend to know
Capacity figures on the homepage are marked as awaiting real figures, with the note that nothing on that page is invented. This page does not repeat them, and it does not add a price. There is no phone number.
If you want to talk about sending used batteries, or about what the plant does with them, book a call. It is fifteen minutes with the people who run the plant. The form opens your email app, addressed to admin@salvageenergy.world.
